Amy's Birthday

Amy was born on the 29th of February ( a leap year baby ) so she doesn't have a real birthday this year, but we'll be celebrating it today and tomorrow. Amy likes to have a LOOONNNNG birthday!

She doesn't know it yet, but I am going to give her the car below for her birthday . . .

Sadly, it's going to be for her 100 and 17th birthday
( She's turning 17 ).

Another Milestone

Yesterday was Valentine's Day. Another anniversary or milestone for me since Jane passed away. You see, Valentine's Day (1986) was our very first real date. We went to a singles group ballroom dance with our church singles group.

Today, 23 years later, I visited Jane's grave site and place three red roses on her headstone. It was chilly and started to rain, then hail as I took these photos.

DJ's Birthday

Several people told me after Jane died, that there would be a lot of "firsts". First Christmas, first New Years, first birthdays, etc.

Well, today is Daniel's 19th birthday, and [it] hit me again. My good friend, Mary Beth calls it "being ambushed." I started thinking about that day 19 years ago when DJ was born, and the letter I wrote to him right afterward. I started to get choked-up when I thought about that time so long ago. I have published the letter that I wrote to him below.

Jane really would have liked to see DJ with his own car, a job, and turning 19. Happy Birthday Daniel! I love you! !
